British artist Benedict Radcliffe revealed his 3.5meter long sculpture at Dizze Rascals air max 90 launch. Im impressed with his attention to detail when recreating just about every nook and cranny of the iconic air max 1. Apparently the sculpture/ jungle gym is also study enough for small children to climb on it.

Felt

MC slug from the hip hop group atmosphere, and hip hop duo Murs have been the kings of underground rap for quite some time, bordering the main stream hip hop scene, yet maintaining a unique style. Their powers combine to create a hip-hop super group called Felt. Although I am rather unfamiliar with their previous work, Felt is due to release their 3rd album named after B-List actress Rosie Perez, on novemeber 17th. To top it off, the group chose under ground hip hop artist and beat making wonder Aesop Rock to produce the album. With these names the potential for the album has no limit, and what I have heard so far is intriguing to say the least. Jordan recently added to his all-star list of basketball shoe endorsees by signing MVP candidate Dwayne Wade from Converse. The deal bodes well for both sides, as Dwayne Wade should bring tons of fans to the jordan market, while Wades eventual signature shoe should get way more hype with the credentials of the Jordan name brand than his previous sneaker with converse. Jordan Wastes no time, featuring Wade in the newest jordan commercial, which sports a break to rebuild theme. Jordan has always had quality commercials, and doesn't disappoint this time around.

The predator is definitely the most famous soccer boot of all time, and its release is highly anticipated every few years. This year adidas celebrates the release of the Predator X by tracing the legendary career of Zidane, and the journey the cleat has taken with him. gotta love seeing zizou knock a ball around, guy still has mad skills. The Kings of Leon may be mainstream right now, but they deserve the popularity their new album has brought them, as they have been producing great rock music for quite some time now. The maturing of their sound in their newest album has really brought them to a new level, and they seem to be getting the attention of a lot of artists all around the music scene. In my opinion a cover is one of the biggest forms of respect an artist can give another artist, and Haley really gets to let her voice shine in a toned down acoustic version of the hit.

This got me thinking about one of my favorite goals in world cup history, a brilliant goal from Dennis Bergkamp against Argentina in the 89th minute to seal a semi-final spot for Holland in the 1998 World Cup. Gallows Warped 09

alright so they didn't do this in hartford because the crowd was too small...but how can you not appreciate a punk rock band that gets a circle pit going at 11am, and does a minute long intro to their hit single "In the Belly of a Shark", not to mention their front man Frank Carter and lead guitarist laurent Barnard play the song down off the stage in the midst of the crowd. Pure baddassness. The intro is actually a song called "gold dust" which was released on Myspace but never put on an album. Wicked pissed i missed their show in Hartford for warped tour despite a disappointing turn out from the fans. It seems they are much more popular in San Francisco. I hope people recognize this bands realness even if your not down with their heavy sound. Watch for the look on the old guys face in the front as he bounces before he gets trampled, hilarious.

MVP Commercials

If you have been watching the NBA playoffs then you have probably seen the new nike lebron and Kobe puppet commercials. I think the new commercials are hilarious, and i like that nike is bringing back the puppet theme, tapping into the old school penny spirit. I have been really surprised by the number and quality of commercials they have produced. The most recent features the MVP's baby sitting their neighbor's son lil Dez. Why did you cut your fro? Have you ever eaten an empinanda? I think a lot of us would have a similar reaction to that many pairs of shoes.

Gallows

British hardcore band "Gallows" just released the video for their single "London is the Reason" off their sophomore album "Grey Britain". The video features similar sentiments to that of N.W.A. with regard to the police. although their first album "Orchestra of Wolves" which was a little more punk in nature was a favorite of mine, the new album which is a little more hard rock is still taking some time to grow on me. Never the less, if you enjoy hardcore concerts in which you might get close enough to the lead singer to put your arm around him and sing into the mike, or punch him in the mouth and get his blood on you, then you might want to check out a Gallows concert, the energy and atmosphere their lead singer Frank brings is unrivaled. Fuck the police!

The guys who brought you the likes of NERD, MSTRKRFT, Spank Rock, and Kid Sister last year, now have a line-up stacked with Underworld, Chromeo, Crookers, Crystal Castles,The Bloody Beet Roots and A-trak. Wouldn't have minded seeing soulwax, or Justice on the list, but the line-up is solid as is. If your in the Cali Area, this is something you don't want to miss.

Champions League

Chelsea and Barcelona went into their leg 2 match up tied 0-0 aggregate. If you have yet to see it, they leg 2 brawl was a classic. Both finishes were pure class, just what you expect from a Champions league clash of heavyweights. Iniesta stuck one in in the 93 minute tying the game 1-1 and advancing Barcelona on the away goal tiebreaker. The first video is worse quality but andy gray announces it, and his commentary is priceless. The second video is better quality but some turkish guy announces it...pick your poison, id advise andy gray.




NOTE: also influencing the match were a pair of pretty blatant handball no calls and a point blank miss by Drogba, all hurting Chelsea's chances.

The Cool Kids just dropped a new mix tape, produced by the famous Don Cannnon, entitled "Gone Fishing", as the precursor to their highly anticipated album "When Fishes Ride Bicycles". This mixtape would be tough if Don Cannon didn't drop his name every five seconds during every song, but if your used to mixtape nonsense then definitely give it a peek, its worth it. I really like how nike goes vulcanized soles on some classic models here. The air force 180(black and white) and delta force high(black and pink) look clean and simple with the chuck taylor/alife style vulcanized sole, which is really in right now. If some dunks or better yet some jordan ones drop in this pack, consider them mine.

new song from minus the bear, circa novemeber 2008. Somehow this one slipped by me for a while. It seems they have been experimenting with some spacey new guitar sounds. New As Tall As Lions

new As Tall as Lions song. These guys continue to grow on me as i continue to listen to them more and more. Their drummer cliff sarcona does a great job using different dynamic levels and crash accents, and as a result he has definitely entered into the group of erin tate, aaron gillespie, and darren king, as one of my favorite drummers. their self titled album is one you should definitely check out.

Freestyle Battle

Charles Hamilton is getting a lot of hype, especially through sites like Hypetrak that continue to kiss his pink and Sonic covered ass. As much as i think he's got some skills, Serius Jones knocks him out in this 3 round middle weight bout. Don't get me wrong, It was a hard fought fight and Hamilton gets his punches in here, even a few haymakers, but in the end Hamilton wakes up dizzy in his corner with a cold press over his eye and a towel around his neck, just in time to watch Serius Jones raise his arms in the middle of the ring. Kid Cudi

2009 promises to be a breakout year for tons of up and coming rappers like Wale, Charles Hamilton, and Asher Roth, but i think the near future has the most in store for hipster rapper Kid Cudi. Even if you slept on him at first like i did, his mixtape deserves an honest listen. Kid Cudi really opens himself up in his lyrics, leaving himself vulnerable to the listener, something not too many mainstream rappers are doing right now. This really helps you connect to some of his songs on a personal level. Plus, Once you pop on Day N Night, you'll be bouncin to it all day, trust me. Download the mixtape for FREE here. KID CUDI. Nike has just dropped word that they will be releasing this dope new dunk high feb 6th in promotion of Henry Selick's (director of the nightmare before christmas) new kids animated horror movie Coraline. The dunks are some of the freshest and most unique ive seen from nike in a while. I am a huge fan of the interesting use of materials on this one ranging from canvas, to leather, to buttons and exaggerated stitching. But dont get too excited...nike will only be releasing 1000 pairs...meaning normal folk like you and i probably wont be able to get our hands on a pair, even if somehow we inherited a fortune, or found some buried treasure before having to dish out the extreme cash to snag a pair of these. What you can get excited for on the other hand is Henry Selick producing another Nightmare Before Christmas esque movie. check out the trailer for the movie below.
